Pedigree of the original Dawsons of Bonnytown, near Linlithgow, Scotland. Autobiographical notes on his journey from London to Port Phillip in the ship China, 24 November, 1839-2 May, 1840 and life after his arrival as a farmer and pastoralist, first near Anderson's Creek on the Yarra, then after 1844 at Kangatong Station in the Port Fairy area, and later near Camperdown. Includes genealogical information on the Dawson family and also the family of James Dawson's wife, Joan Anderson Park; also reprints of newspaper obituaries of Joan and James Dawson.
